Just an encouraging I found and wanted to make sure I shared it with the world! With everything that happens throughout any given day, it is sometimes hard to find balance and harmony. Making sure you are doing things that bring you happiness will ultimately add harmony to your life. For me, I’ve continued to incorporate yoga as my focal point in life. This truly does bring my life more balance and focus. If you are needing to realign things in your life, a good start would be getting into a regular yoga class in order to create a healthy lifestyle. When you’re living healthy you carry yourself differently and you tend to hold your head higher. Ultimately, we are looking for positive people with great outlooks on life. Your mindset has a lot to do with how your outlook on life is. So think about what things you can change in your life, in order to accomplish all of your goals. Be an inspiration to someone, and achieve the goals you set before yourself! Be Brilliant!

“Running, walking, gardening – it’s all good. Regardless of what you do, regular exercise and physical activity is the path to health and well-being. Exercise burns fat, builds muscle, lowers cholesterol, eases stress and anxiety, lets us sleep restfully.”

A lot of the time, people exercise without enjoying their time spent becoming fit and healthy. My perspective is do something you ACTUALLY enjoy! I am a firm believer that health and wellness is an essential part of life, as well as being happy! So instead of killing yourself for hours in the gym doing what you’re “supposed” to do, why not find ways to incorporate your favorite things to do!

For me, yoga has been my way to stay healthy, but it is always something I am passionate about and I truly enjoy. So I have learned to combine a few things I love in life, and it works well! I encourage you to do the same thing!

Stay healthy, stay hydrated and stay happy!

“Your sleep habits may be more revealing than you think, according to a surprising new study. A body language expert has analyzed common sleep positions and reports that they can reveal how stressed you are. Sleep position also offers insights into such traits as bossiness, stubbornness, being self-critical, and whether people feel they’re in control of their life.

A study of 1,000 sleepers, commissioned by Premier Inns, suggest that there are basically four types of sleepers—the fetal, the log sleeper, the yearner and the freefallers. Here’s a look what your slumber habits may reveal about your personality.

The Fetal Position

If you curl up in a ball when you sleep (below, left), you are not alone. Over half of people in the study literally curl up into the fetal position when they hit the sheets.

Why? Phipps says that fetal sleepers are looking for comfort and are often constant worriers. While they are very conscientious during their waking hours, these are people who tend to overthink their tasks and daily lives.

Read more from Cascade News

The Log Position

Do you sleep straight in a vertical line (below, right), with arms at your sides? The study says nearly 30 percent of people sleep like a “log,” and may be a bit rigid when it comes to their personalities.

Those who sleep in this rigid position also often find themselves waking up stiffer and in more discomfort than when they went to bed. Their muscles may not be getting the proper rest while they sleep. Or it might mean that you have to find more of your waking hours learning how to relax.

The Yearner

If you reach for the stars (below, left), with outstretched arms, while you sleep you are among the 25 percent of sleepers who are yearners. The yearners are people who get up in the morning with an excitement to get out there and chase their dreams.

But Phipps says these are also people who go after their dreams without a real focus. They can be chronic time wasters. Phipps also says that some of the yearners aren’t just chasing their dreams, some feel that they are being chased.

Visit the Insomnia Learning Center

The Freefall Position

If you sleep face down on your stomach (below, right), with arms and legs all over the bed in a freefall position, it might mean that you are seeking control of time and space in a way that you don’t feel you have in your waking hours. While only 17 percent of the people studied were considered freefallers, Phipps says these are the sleepers who may be getting the least restful night’s sleep.

7 Simple Tips for Better Sleep

What does other research say about sleep position?

Sleep researcher Professor Chris Idzikowskia, at the Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service, agrees that there are links between the way we sleep and our personalities. He also sees the links between our sleep positions and our overall health. For example, Idzikowskia says those who sleep in the starfish sleeping position, on their backs with arms and legs outspread, may be more open, and make better friends than the logs.

He also singles out the soldier sleeper, who is also a back sleeper. The soldier tends to be quiet and reserved, and sets high standards for himself and others. Both the soldier and the starfish often struggle with getting a good night’s sleep because they tend to snore and have other breathing problems throughout the night.

10 Best Insomnia Apps for iPhone and Android

The study also suggests that those who sleep on the left side of the mattress have a brighter outlook on life, “They tend to be more upbeat and able to handle the stresses of work and life better than those who sleep on the right,” Claire Haigh, a spokesperson for Premier Inns says. According to the study, 31 percent of the respondents who slept on the left side of the mattress love their jobs, compared to just 18 percent of those who sleep on the right side.

Both researchers say there is no one size fits all when it comes to sleep positions. According to Phipps the participants in his study of changed sleeping positions several times during the night.

Some Helpful Yoga Tips For The Beginner Level:

When starting to get into the art of Yoga it is good to mentally prepare yourself being jumping into classes and then leaving discouraged. Yoga takes a lot of concentration, focus and strength. If you are desiring to become more flexible, spiritual or just wanting a full body workout to keep your heart and life happy, Yoga is definitely the best fit for you. Another suggestions to our beloved beginners is, do not over exert yourself. Take your time building up to the full length of the class you are attended. You want to make sure you don’t pull any muscles or strain anything in the process of enjoying a good stretch.

Some Helpful Yoga Tips For The Intermediate Level:

If you have been doing Yoga for a little while now, and are getting more comfortable with the movements, it might be a good idea to focus your attention on breathing more in depth and keeping the flow through each movement. This will allow you to build a great repetition of Yoga positions.

Some Helpful Yoga Tips For The Advanced Level:

Congratulations for being at the advanced level! I am always pleased when others take Yoga seriously while still having fun! Since you are in the advanced level you should be focusing on the full extension of your movements now. Elongate your stretch and push yourself a little further each time. This will continue to increase your flexibility as well as strengthening your muscles. Don’t cheat yourself with each position, embrace the movements and keep your lines clean.

No matter what level you are at, make sure you are staying hydrated, rested and fueled with healthy food. Keep having a strong attitude and preserver through each class with hard work and concentration. Remember, you are only becoming a healthier YOU, and what more can you ask for!

XOXO

“Yoga is All About Breath
The core of yoga is about long, deep breathing, in and out through the nose. This has major health benefits, especially when combined with yoga’s various poses and postures. “Ujai” breathing is practiced with the throat slightly constricted which causes a bit of a windy sound. It’s purpose is to control and channel the air flowing in and out of the lungs.I’ve heard many yoga teachers say throughout the years that keeping continuous breathing patterns is more important than how deep one holds a pose. Since not all yoga students are taught how to properly breathe during class, it’s worth mentioning as one of the basic facts about yoga — it’s about the breath!
.

Yoga is Non Competitive
Even though we often compare ourselves to the person on the mat next to us, it’s really unnecessary. Everyone has a different level of flexibility and so they’ll naturally find their limits. Not everyone is able to do postures to the same level of perfection as someone else and there’s simply no need to concern yourself with other people’s progress.
.

Yoga is Safe
Just about anyone can practice yoga, from children all the way up to senior citizens. While beginners might want to avoid Ashtanga, the basic ethos of all other yoga practices is “go at your own pace.” Care and caution should always be practiced when doing any form of exercise and yoga is perfectly safe for all levels of flexibility. In other words, your yoga teacher isn’t going to make you try to put your foot behind your head the first time you go to class.”

Thank you Muuyu Yoga for the great explanation!
